Gangguan elektrik di UNITEN kampus Putrajaya

Mukim Sepang, 24 Disember 2009- Unversiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) telah mengalami gangguan bekalan elektrik di sini pada semalam hari. Kejadian tersebut berlaku sejak awal pagi, iaitu jam 8.00 pagi hinggajam 11.00 pagi. Walau bagaimanapun, gangguan elektrik tidak berkekalan kerana selepas 11.00 pagi bekalan elektrik pulih kembali. Namun tidak semua bangunan yang mendapat kembali bekalan elektrik kerana bangunan perpustakaan dan bangunan kolej IKAL masih bergelap sehingga waktu malam.

Menurut seorang juruteknik UNITEN, masalah tersebut berpunca daripada seekor cencorot yang dikatakan menggigit salah satu wayar di penjana utama UNITEN yang membekalkan elektrik ke seluruh bangunan di UNITEN.

Kesan daripada peristiwa gangguan elektrik tersebut, banyak kelas yang bermula seawal jam 8.00 pagi terpaksa dibatalkan oleh pensyarah masing-masing akibat tidak dapat menggunakan komputer dan ‘projektor’ serta perisian di makmal-makmal sains dan kejuruteraan.

University Tenaga Nasional might be the daughter of TNB but blackout do occur here too. It is really ironic how a power-related university runs out of power. It's nothing special but its just amazing.

3) Membentuk ukhwah yang mantap tanpa mengira asal-usul seseorang di dalam persatuan

4) Sebagai wadah peserta untuk menunjukkan potensi diri untuk dipertengahkan oleh PRS

5) Mencari pelapis kepimpinan PRS dengan menyerapkan peserta ke dalam exco-exco untuk diberi pendedahan menganjurkan pelbagai program selain meningkatkan softskill.

4on4 Volleyball Competition

This Friday, 18th December 2009, UNITEN VOLLEYBALL CLUB will be organizing a 40n4 Volleyball Competition. Thus far, 12 teams have registered. Anyone interested can still contact Syazwan or Hwa Xi. Their contact numbers can be found at posters in your respective hostel. Or you can just post a comment here or send me an e-mail, and I will be more than glad to provide you the necessary details and contact person.

For those who are not interested to join, you are welcome to support and join in the fun at the volleyball court (behind Multi Purpose Hall @ DSS). Great prizes await the winners. So spread the news and come support your favorite team play in this mixed event.

UNITEN PPOU STUDENT ACCEPTED TO CORNELL

The PPOU Program in IKAL has been ongoing for quite some years. It holds an unbelievably splendid track record with students being accepted to top universities in the United States like MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon and so on.

This morning, Iswari Nallisamy juz received confirmation of her acceptance to Cornell class of 2014. Iswari applied for an Early Decision about a month ago. Her acceptance to this prestigious Ivy League school has proved once again that UNITEN is indeed one of the top universities in Malaysia in terms of overseas preparation program.

I would like to express my heartiest congratulation on behalf of all UNITEN students to Iswari Nallisamy. As the first student in UNITEN this year and probably the first in the whole of Malaysia to be accepted this year, Iswari has certainly set the benchmark high.
